The last update to phpGroupware took place in 2004. You can probably still run the code, but I would suggest eGroupware which was initially created from a fork of our codebase. I cannot speak to the quality of eGroupware, as I have never used it.

phpGroupWare was a fully featured, web based messaging, collaboration and enterprise management platform.

phpGroupWare came with over 50 applications that can be mixed and matched according to your needs. Some of the most powerful features included:

phpGroupWare is free/open source software — which means the software can be modified to suit your specific needs.

At the core of phpGroupWare is an Application Programming Interface (API) which allows you to build and deploy your own web based applications quickly and easily. The API supports multiple database backends, permissions and access controls, user interface generation and multiple languages.

phpGroupWare is flexible and scalable. It is suitable for small groups of people and large organisations. It supported over 20 languages. Around the world tens of thousands of people used phpGroupWare every day. phpGroupWare was a GNU Package.
